Take off every 'SIG'!! You know what you doing.
The portrait rendtion of Spike matches excellently against the orginal Anime form, keeping the charm and carisma within the design. This life like rendition has also shown to us how you have mastered realism of characters as you feel more connected to him rather than him sticking out in his original cartoon appeal.
Colour wise you've done a surperb job with the amount of detail in the form of light variations, creasing and general layering of tones on his skin. The gentle over lay of hues to show the contrast in well explored and makes him feel lively and mysterious, this is helped by teh faint line art used as well. The colour is a tad dark within area, but the additions of light supplement this nicely and not making him merge with the background used. It shows great improvements in your style and how you have obtained a better understanding of the working digitally.
What also makes him feel like good old Spike is the addition of the cigarette and marvellous use of faint smoke that raises from the ash. Along with the hair strands this shows excellent display of the finer qualities of your work.
Keep it up.
