Artist's Comments

Sorry, I've been slack with uploading this one. Obviously, my site comes first so keep an eye on it!:

2D Forever

Streets of Rage 2 always felt like it was just a slightly newer version of the original, but less fun. Blaze, on the right, took on the appearance of a whore and Axel (on the left) now looked in pain as he was hunched up - all cool was lost...
And by removing the only rubbish character of the first one, they included 2 even worse, Max (the fat one) and Skate (the annoying one).

Hell, it just wasn't the first one. But it tried to be. However, when Playd asked to draw out the set of characters for their replayd feature I gladly said yes. It was worth it to draw Axel and Blaze.
I had to make sure I got Blaze with the correct mixture of hardcore beefcake vs. hardcore pornstar that she acquired in the 2nd game...

The thought process was simple for this one, it could of been more dynamic but alas it did the job.

looking great! streets of rage was one of my favourite games for the megadrive, I adored it, luckily Id idn't play streets of rage 2 because by the sound of it it wasn't great! whereas the first one was fab! the char designs everything!

haha this is so crazy, I was just on the smash bros brawl website, and a guy who composed the music for streets of rage is doing some music for SSBB! I literilly just read it and came to check here and heres a streets of rage pic!

Man yeah I really didn't like playing SoR2 as much.
But still, awesome pic! You've made them look cooler than they really were. :)=P

Ah yes, i never played 2 or 3.. though i really wanted them i never got them bought for me.

Strange really, because my dad LOVED that game.

We completed it in Co-Op!
which is something i really miss with the arrival of 3d gaming. There is little to no co-op gameing anymore!

There's no emoticon for what i'm feeling!!!

you sir.. win my internets : D
I agree with SOR2 beeing a somewhat upgraded SOR1 but lots of the co op elements had disappeared from it.. like using each other to air-tackle baddies and things like that. Me and a pal still enjoy booting up Streets of Rage oh the ol' Mega Drive / Genesis and play through it.

Thanks for this awesome tribute : )

Thanks for the comment!

So many memories of the past come forth from this. Final Fight and Streets of Rage were the two games that I played the most, and it was a pleasure to go through, kick butt, and look cool while doing it.

Even now, there's a Streets of Rage Remix game created by fans of the series. It really is a good play, and may be well worth your time if you're interested.

Anyway, thank you so much for sharing a bit of cool nostalgia with so many fans. May you continue to create such awesome artistics.

All that has ever been created was done so for a reason, even if that reason is just for it to be.

thats what i'm talking about, old school man! Love it all, apart from Max. He was HUGE, he shouldnt care whether skate is doing his moves.
